Frequently asked questions.
Do you offer therapy sessions both in-person and online?
Yes! I offer both in-person therapy sessions in Kelowna, BC at my office on Dickson Ave, and virtual counselling for adult clients located anywhere in British Columbia (BC). We can discuss which format is the best fit for your needs during the complimentary consultation.
What is the first appointment like, and do I need a referral?
The first appointment is simply a relaxed, confidential conversation where you can share what brought you to seek support. You do not need a doctor's referral to book an appointment. Many clients feel nervous—that's normal! We'll review confidentiality, discuss your goals, and ensure we're a good therapist-client fit.
Do you have experience in certain issues, like anxiety or OCD?
Yes, I am a clinical therapist and Registered Social Worker (RSW) who specializes in working with adults who are navigating anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), phobias, and trauma. I focus on teaching practical skills for managing overwhelming thoughts and feelings related to life transitions and relationship stress.
How long does counselling take?
The duration of therapy depends entirely on your goals. Some clients feel better after a few sessions focused on a specific issue using CBT therapy, while others prefer longer-term support for deep-seated patterns or life transitions. We will collaboratively decide on a treatment plan that feels right for you.
What are your session fees, and are your services covered by extended health benefits in BC?
As a Registered Social Worker (RSW), my services are covered by most extended health benefits plans in British Columbia, including those provided by major insurance companies. I recommend you contact your provider to confirm your specific coverage for a Registered Social Worker (MSW).
The fee for a 50-minute session is $150, and the fee for an 80-minute session is $225.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. This is a pressure-free opportunity for you to ask me questions, discuss your needs, and determine if my approach is the right fit for you before committing to a full session.
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept payment via credit card, e-transfer, cash, and offer a receipt for billing to your provider if your plan covers Registered Social Workers.
